Lahore’s Naanbai Association raises naan price by Rs 5
Lahore – The cost of a plain naan in Lahore has gone up by five rupees, according to a statement from the Naanbai Association’s president, Aftab Gill, as reported by ARY News. Gill clarified that the prices of roti and sesame‑topped naan (known locally as Khamiri or Roghani) have not changed. With the increase, a single naan now sells for Rs 35, while the standard roti remains at Rs 20.
Gill explained that tandoor operators have been compelled to purchase more expensive LPG because of ongoing gas load‑shedding. He also noted that the price of plain fine flour (maida) has risen sharply, now costing an additional Rs 3,000 for an 80‑kilogram sack. As a result, both plain naan and sesame‑topped flatbreads are being sold at the same price of Rs 35 each.
