Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Opens New Daanish School in Islamabad

Islamabad, 18 October 2026 – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif presided over the inauguration of a Daanish School in the capital on Saturday. Speaking at the ceremony, he reiterated the government’s commitment to nurture the nation’s gifted youth by ensuring equal access to quality education.

The premier praised the achievements of Daanish School alumni, describing their stories as both moving and motivating. He warned that financial hardship remains the chief obstacle for millions of bright boys and girls across Pakistan, many of whom have the talent and drive to help the country become a leading economy.

Recalling the origin of the Daanish Schools network in 2010, Prime Minister Sharif explained that the programme was designed to give under‑privileged students from every region – including Azad Kashmir and Gilgit‑Baltistan – the same educational standards enjoyed by elite institutions. He stressed that every child, whether the offspring of the nation’s wealthiest families, the prime minister, or an orphan, deserves the same chance to learn.

“If these children are left to waste their time in the muddy streets of their villages and cities, then this is not the Pakistan of Quaid‑i‑Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. This is certainly not his Pakistan,” he said, emphasizing that quality education is a right for all talented youngsters, irrespective of their socioeconomic background.
