Saudi-backed coalition launches airstrikes to ease Houthi blockade of Taiz

Saudi-led forces said they carried out air strikes on several positions surrounding the Yemeni city of Taiz in an effort to break the Houthi siege. The city has become the latest frontline in the conflict between Yemen’s internationally recognized government and the Houthi militia. The coalition’s statement was released on 18 October 2026.
