PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Calls for Bushra Bibi Talks and Release of Imran Khan’s Sisters

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek‑e‑Insaf (PTI) chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said that party founder Imran Khan has given authority to Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas to engage in negotiations, ARY News reported. Speaking to reporters outside Parliament House, Gohar said talks were held concerning the recent imposition of Governor’s Rule and emergency measures in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He stressed that the discussions were conducted without bitterness or tension and that a definitive resolution is needed, adding that Parliament must be strengthened.

Gohar accused a faction of trying to drive a wedge between PTI and a key state institution, while also acknowledging the sacrifices made by the Pakistan Army. On the political situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he warned that appointing a chief minister from a smaller province would not improve matters. He called for the PTI’s long march to conclude, after which meetings with Bushra Bibi should be permitted and the founder’s sisters should be released.

The chairman also noted that PTI Member of National Assembly Naseem Shah was arrested on Monday. “You have seven governments, while our government was taken away through deception,” he said. He added that the Peshawar High Court is scheduled to hear a case challenging the Governor’s Rule on Tuesday.
