Police 15 helpline now connected to NCCIA for faster cyber‑crime response
ISLAMABAD – In a coordinated effort to curb cyber offences, the police have joined forces with the Cyber Crime Intelligence Agency to link the Police 15 helpline with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), ARY News reported. From now on, any complaint lodged through the 15 helpline will be automatically routed to the NCCIA.
The director general of the NCCIA said that the 15 helpline systems used by police across all provinces and major cities have been merged with the agency’s own platform. Cyber‑crime reports will be sent to the appropriate NCCIA regional office via an automated process, and that office will take immediate legal action once the complaint is received.
Members of the public can now file their complaints through the familiar emergency 15 number, a move intended to simplify reporting and strengthen cooperation between police forces and the NCCIA. The integration is expected to speed up the handling of cases involving online harassment, fraud and data theft, making it easier for citizens to seek help.
