Six Palestinians killed in Gaza by Israeli drones despite ceasefire
Israeli drones struck several locations across the Gaza Strip on Saturday, killing at least six Palestinians, according to medical and emergency workers in the enclave. The attacks occurred in the north, centre and south of Gaza, including an incident near the Jabalia refugee camp.
The Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that a drone hit a group of civilians near al‑Faluja cemetery, west of Jabalia, killing one man and wounding several others. Another drone strike in the al‑Mawasi area of Rafah also resulted in one death and multiple injuries, Wafa added.
In the Tuffah neighbourhood of northeast Gaza City, two people were killed and others injured, according to staff at al‑Shifa Hospital. Witnesses told Al Jazeera that the victims had just returned from the burial of a previous casualty. A separate drone attack in eastern Gaza City claimed another life, the same hospital reported.
Central Gaza was not spared. Al‑Aqsa Martyrs Hospital said a strike in Deir el‑Balah killed one person and injured another.
Gaza’s Health Ministry said the death toll since the United States‑brokered ceasefire of 10 October 2025 has reached 1,511 Palestinians, with 5,375 injured. In the 48 hours preceding the latest update, six people were killed and 43 wounded across the strip. The ministry added that the overall conflict, which began in October 2023, has caused 74,469 deaths and 175,492 injuries.
UNICEF highlighted the impact on children on Friday in Geneva. Spokesperson Ricardo Pires said more than 340 children have died since the ceasefire began, and seven children were killed in attacks over the past two weeks while at least 33 were seriously injured. The agency estimated that about 800,000 children remain displaced, many living in tents or unsafe buildings as winter approaches.
Restrictions on movement are tightening. An Al Jazeera map released on 12 October showed Israeli forces controlling or limiting access to roughly 65 percent of Gaza. The “Yellow Line” that once marked Israeli positions after a partial withdrawal has been pushed further into Palestinian‑held areas, leaving about 2.1 million people in the remaining accessible zone.
Gaza’s Health Ministry warned on Friday that more than 1.4 million Palestinians could face crisis‑level food insecurity or worse for the rest of the year.
