United set to revive Hall deal as summer defence revamp looms

Manchester United are planning a significant reshuffle of their back line next summer and are expected to reopen negotiations for Newcastle United’s left‑back Lewis Hall, the 22‑year‑old England international who has expressed a desire to join Old Trafford. The club is also keeping an eye on Bournemouth’s French defender Adrien Truffert, 24, as another potential addition.

Across Europe, Real Madrid remain interested in Italy’s Riccardo Calafiori, but Arsenal have warned that only an extraordinary offer would persuade the Serie A side to let the 24‑year‑old go.

Both Liverpool and Arsenal have shown interest in Barcelona’s 19‑year‑old Spanish defender Xavi Espart. However, Barcelona have made it clear that they will not entertain any bids, citing a release clause that exceeds £84 million.

Newcastle United are looking ahead to the summer, targeting AC Milan and England defender Fikayo Tomori, who will become a free agent at the end of the season.

Arsenal are reportedly planning a January move for Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi, 22, with the German forward valued at around £42 million.

In the Premier League, Aston Villa are close to securing a new deal for Argentine midfielder Emiliano Buendía, while negotiations continue over Sweden’s Victor Lindelöf, 32, and 19‑year‑old English prospect George Hemmings.

Manchester United remain monitoring Crystal Palace winger Ismaila Sarr, 28, with Turkish side Galatasaray also expressing interest in the Senegalese international.

Tottenham Hotspur and Spain’s right‑back Pedro Porro, 27, have indicated they would seriously consider a move to either Barcelona or Real Madrid.

Finally, Argentina defender Lisandro Martínez, 28, is set to leave Manchester United when his contract expires at the end of the season.
