Toddler dies, brother critical after consuming contaminated dairy milk
A two‑year‑old boy in Lahore died after being given milk that was later found to be contaminated, while his three‑year‑old brother, Zain, remains in critical condition, according to ARY News. The family had bought the milk from a local dairy shop in the Nishtar Colony neighbourhood. Shortly after the children drank it, the younger child, Faizan, collapsed and was later pronounced dead at Lahore General Hospital. His older brother was rushed to the same hospital, where doctors say he is fighting for his life.
The Superintendent of Police for Model Town confirmed that the milk was purchased from a nearby vendor and that two people linked to the shop have been taken into custody. Forensic specialists and officials from the Punjab Food Department have collected samples of the milk for testing. The analysis will determine the exact cause of the tragedy and will be released once completed.
