KP government allocates Rs 21 million in aid to families of children killed in school tragedy

Peshawar, Oct 17 2026 – On the orders of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor, Deputy Commissioner Dr Afaq Wazir spent the entire day with the families mourning the loss of their children, handing out relief cheques that total Rs 21 million. Revenue officials and other relevant authorities were present during the distribution. Relatives who had traveled to other districts for the burials will receive their cheques when they return. At the same time, district administration teams are cross‑checking the list of injured children so that financial assistance can be provided to all those hurt within the next day. Deputy Commissioner Wazir said the Peshawar district government remains committed to supporting the affected families and stands with them during this difficult period.
