Teen electrician killed after contractor pursued him in Multan
A 15‑year‑old boy named Waseem Abbas died after being struck by a speeding vehicle in a private housing estate in Multan. Police have taken the contractor accused of chasing the teenager, Touqeer Nazir, into custody, seized his car and opened a case. The investigation into the circumstances of the death is ongoing.
In his first statement to investigators, Touqeer Nazir said Waseem had been learning electrical work under his guidance. He claimed the teenager left the job site without permission and that he tried to catch him. Nazir told police that he drove behind Waseem in an effort to stop him.
According to earlier police reports, the boy left the work area and was pursued by the contractor. The suspect allegedly chased him on foot before following him in a car with another man, Amjad Ali. During the pursuit the vehicle hit Waseem, who then collided with a house gate and died at the scene.
Jawad Haider, an administrator at the orphanage where Waseem lived, said the boy was an orphan from Muzaffargarh who had been placed with Touqeer Nazir to learn the trade. Police confirmed that Waseem was 15 years old and that further inquiries into his death are underway.
