Lavrov talks US war and regional security during Tehran trip

Russia’s foreign minister, Sergey Lavrov, arrived in Tehran for his first official visit since the start of the United States‑Israeli conflict involving Iran. During the trip, he met with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, to examine the ongoing war and explore possible steps toward ending the hostilities. The meeting was reported on 19 October 2026.
