Pakistan Army retaliates after Afghan Taliban fire at border, citing terrorist infiltration attempt

Security sources reported that Afghan Taliban fighters opened fire in the Taida sector of Upper Kurram and the Ghozgarhi border area, an action they say was intended to help Kharji terrorists cross into Pakistan. The Pakistan Army answered with a swift artillery response, targeting the Taliban’s Top Sar post and the Shapola base camp in Upper Kurram. According to the sources, the Shapola camp was destroyed during the exchange.

In the Ghozgarhi region, the clash resulted in the deaths of several Taliban personnel, and the militants reportedly abandoned a border post while fighting continued nearby. The Pakistani military remains on high alert, reaffirming its commitment to protect the nation’s borders and ensure national security.
