ViralSplice vs Opus Clip: Price Comparison for Short-Form Video Creators

Opus Clip is one of the best known tools for turning long videos into vertical Shorts, and it is often the first tool creators compare against anything new. ViralSplice does the same core job: it takes a long video or a YouTube link, finds the strongest moments with AI, and cuts them into 9:16 clips with burned-in captions. This post compares the two tools on price alone, using only prices listed on each tool’s own site today.

OpusClip prices, plan by plan

OpusClip lists four plans on its pricing page. The headline monthly prices are:

  • Free: $0, with a watermark on captions, 9:16 reframing only, and a 3-day export limit at up to 1080p
  • Starter: $15 per month, with watermark-free export, a virality score, multi-language transcription, and a 30-day export limit at the highest resolution available
  • Pro: $29 per month, with 100GB of fixed storage, 9:16, 1:1, and 16:9 reframing, bulk export, export to Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, a social media scheduler, and a team workspace
  • Business: custom pricing

Prices as listed on OpusClip pricing page, November 2026.

ViralSplice prices, plan by plan

ViralSplice lists a free plan and one paid plan with three ways to pay:

  • Free: $0, 5 jobs a day, 500MB upload cap, videos up to 20 minutes, watermarked clips
  • Pro monthly: $9 per month
  • Pro yearly: $90 per year
  • Pro lifetime: $120 once, with no further monthly bill

ViralSplice Pro includes 50 jobs a day, 1GB uploads, videos up to 60 minutes, no watermark, and a priority queue, with burned-in animated captions on every clip. Prices confirmed on the ViralSplice homepage pricing section, November 2026.

What the price gap means in a year

The monthly figures look close at first glance, but the yearly totals make the gap clearer. ViralSplice Pro at $9 a month costs $6 a month less than OpusClip Starter at $15, and $20 a month less than OpusClip Pro at $29. Over a year on monthly billing, that is $108 against $180 for Starter and $348 for Pro, a saving of $72 against Starter and $240 against Pro. The yearly ViralSplice plan at $90 costs half of a year of OpusClip Starter on monthly billing and less than four months of OpusClip Pro. The $120 lifetime payment ends the monthly bill entirely, which is an option OpusClip does not list on its pricing page.

Which tool fits which creator

Price is only one part of the decision, and the honest answer depends on your workflow. If you need a team workspace, bulk export, fixed storage, or exports in square and landscape formats as well as vertical, OpusClip Pro lists those features and may justify its $29 price for you. If you are a solo creator publishing Shorts every day, the features that matter most are clip quality, captions, upload limits, and the monthly bill, and that is where ViralSplice Pro at $9 a month, $90 a year, or $120 once is hard to beat. Either way, check the current pricing page of both tools before you buy, because prices and plans can change. A quick side-by-side test is also worth your time: run the same long video through both free plans and compare the clips before committing to either monthly bill.
