Sindh cabinet decides to make Mir Raza Judicial Commission report public
Karachi – In a meeting held at the Chief Minister’s House, the Sindh Cabinet approved the public release of the judicial commission’s findings on the Mir Raza case, ARY News reported on October 20, 2026. The decision was taken under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, who ordered that the report prepared by the commission led by Justice Umar Sial be uploaded to the Home Department’s website without delay.
To ensure the recommendations are acted upon, the chief minister created a special committee comprising Home Minister Zia‑ul‑Hassan Lanjar, Nasir Hussain Shah, Saeed Ghani and the Advocate General of Sindh. He also instructed officials to provide a copy of the probe report to Mir Raza’s family immediately. The cabinet reviewed the report, which was presented in seven separate envelopes.
The day before, Mir Hussain, the father of the slain entrepreneur, called for a Joint Investigation Team to examine his son’s murder. Speaking outside the court with his lawyer Jibran Nasir, he accused the police of negligence and said the commission’s findings confirmed his concerns. He urged Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Deputy Chief Minister Faryal Talpur to hand over the report to the family and make it publicly available. Hussain also demanded that any police officers found culpable be disciplined, emphasizing that his family had repeatedly highlighted the police’s shortcomings in the media.
