US envoy Barrack says Trump did not join Israel in war against Iran

Tom Barrack, a senior United States envoy, told reporters on the sidelines of the Global Security Forum in Doha that President Donald Trump did not follow Israel into a conflict with Iran, countering earlier statements from the former secretary of state that suggested otherwise. Barrack made the remarks on 20 October 2026, emphasizing that the administration’s policy remained distinct from Israel’s war posture. The comments were shared on social media and have drawn attention to the differing approaches of the United States and its ally in the region.
