Differently-abled teen threatened with gun in Karachi’s Baldia Town
A teenage boy with a disability was attacked and robbed at gunpoint in the Abidabad neighbourhood of Baldia Town, Karachi, according to CCTV footage that captured the assailants fleeing the scene. The victim recounted that the men assaulted him, pointed a firearm at his head, warned that they would kill him and then seized his mobile phone before escaping. He said the threats left him terrified and feeling vulnerable. Police are gathering information about the case and have promised to apprehend those responsible, while the investigation continues.
In a separate episode reported on October 15, 2026, a Karachi resident named Usman from the Tariq Road area lost his car and phone after answering an online advertisement for a 2022 model vehicle. A buyer arranged to meet him near a school in Block 3 of Delhi Mercantile Society and asked to test‑drive the car. The suspect drove the vehicle to Liberty Chowk, where another accomplice joined them. The two men then pointed guns at Usman, took his phone and forced him out of the car before driving away toward Shahrah‑e‑Faisal. Both incidents underscore ongoing concerns about street crime in Karachi, and police investigations are underway in each case.
